And again, hello everyone. Few people know, but I am exactly the person from the meme "Oh, you are from England", so the topic of my today's publication will be devoted specifically to the English language, or rather, to resources useful in its study. I will briefly describe a few resources that may be useful in this difficult task.
I like to read, so, of course, the first resource that I will describe will be a resource that provides a selection of texts.
On the operating table "Extensive Reading CENTER". The resource is a website that contains thousands of texts in various languages. Perhaps you have a question: "So what? How does it differ from hundreds of other sites with texts?", and my answer is simple: "Convenience. Convenient functionality for the selection, search, evaluation of texts." The site has extremely extensive customization tools: a simple search by name, a selection of texts of varying complexity (from the first to the twentieth), whole genre categories, each of which has its own subcategories. In addition, there is a section with topics on which new texts have been published (it makes it easier to find new, often more relevant texts).
Also on the site there is a section with auditions, which has similar settings, and a section with exercises for learning words (exercises have different forms).
Reading is very good, but you should not forget about writing, so the next resource I will tell you about is OWL (Purdue Online Writing Lab). On this site you can practice your writing skills in English, while various tasks are available: from the simplest (writing individual words, phrases, sentences) to writing complex texts of certain styles and genres. As it became clear, on the site it is necessary to practice not only spelling, tenses, but also to learn how to structurally combine sentences while maintaining the style of the text.
And of course we can't do without a base: vocabulary. It goes without saying that for the above points it is extremely important, and there are many different resources that allow you to learn new words affectingly, and fix in memory already known ones.
For example, "The Internet Picture Dictionary" shows you not only words, but also pictures associated with a given word, which connects additional brain resources when memorizing, and allows you to do it more efficiently.
And this site analyzes thousands of texts, collecting information about the use of words in a particular context and meaning, which allows users not only to learn the basic meanings of words, but also their meaning depending on the context or neighborhood with other words, as well as the user learns combinations of words, remembers articles used in a particular a different combination.
Well, that's all my powers are over. Good luck to everyone. See you soon.
Thanks for the useful sources, it's always pleasant to learn something new, especially when you can use it in your further studies
